If we had to choose two things that truly set Meddivelle Care Home apart, they would be our commitment to genuinely personalised care and the importance we place on dignity and independence.
We are proud of taking the time to understand each person as an individual — their life story, personality, preferences, routines, strengths and goals. We do not believe that good care should be one-size-fits-all. Our aim is to provide support that fits around the person, rather than expecting the person to fit around the care.
We are equally proud of creating an environment where people feel respected, heard and valued. From everyday choices and personal routines to meaningful activities and relationships, we encourage the people we support to have a voice in their care and to remain as independent as possible.
For us, success is not simply measured by the care we provide. It is measured by whether the people we support feel safe, comfortable, respected.
Our story
Meddivelle Care Home was created from a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves to receive care that respects who they are, not simply the needs they have.
Our vision grew from a desire to create a care environment where people feel genuinely seen, heard and valued. We wanted to build an approach to care that goes beyond completing daily tasks — one that focuses on meaningful relationships, personal choice, dignity and quality of life.
At Meddivelle, we understand that every person has their own life story, personality, preferences and aspirations. These individual differences shape the way we provide support. We aim to listen carefully, understand what matters to each person and provide care that is tailored to their individual needs.
Our everyday work is guided by dignity, compassion, respect, independence, choice and safeguarding. We believe that people should have as much control as possible over their own lives and be supported to maintain their abilities.
A day at Meddivelle
A day at Meddivelle Care Home is centred around the individual. We understand that everyone has different routines, interests, preferences and support needs, so we aim to create days that feel comfortable, purposeful and personal.
Mornings can begin at a pace that suits each person, with support with personal care, breakfast and getting ready for the day. Throughout the day, individuals are encouraged to make choices about how they spend their time, whether that means taking part in activities, enjoying a conversation, listening to music, pursuing a favourite interest or simply having some quiet time.
We encourage meaningful involvement in everyday life. People may be supported to help with simple household tasks, prepare food, enjoy creative activities, exercise, read, socialise or spend time outdoors where appropriate. Activities are chosen around individual interests and abilities rather than simply following a fixed timetable.
